Version 2.4.4 submitted to Microsoft Store
Changes:
- Includes update to Squeezelite player (version 1.9.4-1182). The new
version eliminates a squeezelite crash having to do with mono-devices.
Now squeezelite will only allow you to select a device with > 1
channels.
- Changes the way SLX populate the list of output devices to select
from. SLX now uses the Port Audio library like squeezelite does.
- Update Chromium library to version 76.1.9.0.
- Inhibit GoBack, GoForward (via Mouse) in SLX browser.
- Ability to define a player to be selected at startup.
- Minor GUI touchups.
Experimental/Test Feature:
The Chromium Embedded Framework offers SLX the ability to filter (and
change) server responses. This allows SLX to basically replace
code/resources at will.
Pressing Ctrl-Shift-D, while in settings will show a few
"Debug/Experimental" options. There, you will now see an option called
"Filter Material Skin". If enabled, SLX will replace parts of Material
Skin with modifications tailored for SLX. (Or, you could say, tailored
for my own personal preferences.)
If you enable this option, SLX dynamically changes the Material Skin as
follows:
- The Home Browse Page is displayed without collapsable sections.
- In the mobile layout toolbar, the info line under player control is
removed and the toolbar is the same height as desktop layout.
- The Volume label is removed.
- The dot separator is used to separate technical info instead of a
comma.
- The sync icon is not shown in the player drop down.
- The Play/Pause button does not have a circle around it.
- Remote Libraries is moved under "My Music"
- My Music always uses server provided categories and the associate
option is removed from settings.
- Avatar sizes are slightly smaller.
- Technical Info and time Info are not show in mini-player in the
narrow view.
- Time info is shown as xx:xx-xx:xx instead of xx:xx / xx:xx
-
In 2.4.4, the Filter is based on MaterialSkin v0.9.6. The filter
dynamically replaces: mobile.css, desktop.css, style.css,
browse-page.js, nowplaying-page.js, toolbar.js, and ui-settings.js with
modified versions. It only does this dynamically on the client. The
server files are not touched. I don't know how reliable this is. And
it may not always work when Material Skin is updated. Turning the
option off immediately returns to normal.
This feature is EXPERIMENTAL/TEST and may be removed in a future version
of SLX. I have not decided on whether it is a good idea or a bad idea.
For me, it was an easy way to compare original and locally-modded
versions of Material Skin easily, without having to touch the server.
