Well, I consider myself an experienced SoftSqueeze user (though not technically proficient enough to figure out what the problem is). I have used SoftSqueeze for about 2 years with very little difficulty. Recently, I upgraded the Slimserver to 6.5 from 6.3 and then changed laptops from PC to Mac.
I suspect the problem may be with the 6.5 SlimServer version. Since you're only running it to test the concept, I would recommend installing the SimServer v6.3 and the SoftSqueeze v2.8 or earlier. That combination worked for me (actually, 2.3 of SoftSqueeze). I don't want to do that since I've got 6.5 working fine on my Squeezebox and it's only a minor annoyance that the SoftSqueeze won't work. Plus, I don't really have the time to revert everything back and re-install. I dislike cross-posting messages, otherwise I would float this onto the General Discussion forum. I find it hard to believe that you and I are the only ones having difficulty getting SoftSqueeze to work right now.
