Sorry - but this is not related to Material Skin. I'd imagine writing a
small system-tray-like app for macOS (perhaps in python?) would be
relatively trivial. However, I have no macOS to even experiment with. If
I were to ever do something like this it would be a Linux app that uses
the MPRIS DBus interface. But I have no time at the present for this,
and no real need.

Material does use the 'MediaSession' javascript API to provide
lockscreen, and notification, controls on Android - but this is a
massive hack, and does not work all that well.
