I think doctorjames was asking if you just hover the mouse over the Squeezelite-X icon in the tray (without clicking on it) and move the mouse wheel, for it to adjust volume. In this case, Windows would not read the mousewheel event, as tray icons do not have mousewheel events. I do have volume controls in the taskbar preview, though.
