Unfortunately Spotify Connect has never been reliably stable for me.
You're not alone. Unfortunately the Connect feature has always been flaky for many users. I've seen random stops, too. But I haven't figured out what is causing them. Except for the fact that the whole setup is a bit of a hack. And having two masters who believe to be in charge of playback (LMS and Spotify) certainly doesn't help things: imagine that both can receive control commands like volume, or transport commands. And both should let the other know about them. But then they should not end in an infinite loop... Unless I'll have a great idea to approach this in a totally different way, I feare I'll never be able to really make it rock solid.
