Well done for working around the buffering issue.
I did replace (clear) the Alexa buffer on starting a new command, but, as you point out, once people add songs via other routes then I no longer had control and while things worked it was not a great user experience (e.g. song titles in LMS UI switching long before the song finished playing on Alexa). If you can find a way to defeat that as well then it will be great. There would then be no need for LMS plugin that starves Alexa of content to stop the buffer growing.
