That would explain some issues. Your use of the term "crash" is a bit confusing though. "Hang" would probably be more accurate: when you open the plugins page LMS would try to get the latest plugin update information from the internet. I don't know whether this is using a reasonable timeout. But maybe it's just taking a few minutes before it gives up.

You certainly do have some level of internet access, or you couldn't update LMS. Why don't enable that (temporarily) to turn off all the plugins? And once you go offline, don't touch the plugins page any more?

This has nothing to do with pinkdot's Synology packages and doesn't really belong here.
