Thanks for your reply.
Well the pause is absolutely random and takes about 20-30 seconds,
squeeze will continue playback at the very same position it stopped
after the drop out.
After some more testing I also have an idea what's causing the issue:
I compared my old setup on windows 7 again with the current, Squeezelite
is causing the issue. Adding the file libmpg123-0.dll is solving the
problem for Squeezelite.
It appears to be a decoder-problem when streaming mp3-files. Copying
this file into the Squeezelite-x-directory doesn't appear to have any
effect though and the problem persists.
Some possible workarounds (copying some original Squeezelite-files into
squeezelite-x, swapping portaudio.dll and renaming it accordingly)
didn't work either and caused Squeezelite-x to not function properly
(not able to start Squeezelite) or having no effect at all.
It's really weird as Squeezelite-x is basically just running Squeezelite
anyway...

For now I'll run Squeezelite as a service again.
