Update... Running SlimCD off a 1 GByte USB pen drive: I scanned my 8,000 track FLAC library, shutdown, rebooted, and everything was there, including the folder art. I like this. I have been running Slimserver for a day this way and playing music, with no more major issues.
With only a minor caveat, this is a great way to run Slimserver. The one issue that came up, is when rebooting SlimCD off a USB pen drive, the file system that contains the music library was not mounted automatically.
