Hi All I'm trying unsuccessfully to get AlienBBC running on a LinkStation Pro running Freelink (Debian) and hope someone might be able to help.
So far, I have SlimServer 6.5.1 running fine, and have installed the AlienBBC 1.06 plugin correctly (I can browse through the different BBC shows through my Squeezebox). Finally, I also have mplayer 1.0rc1-4.1.2-DFSG-free installed via apt-get. So, the problem is that when I try to play a show on my Squeezebox, I see the 'connecting' message in the Now Playing view, but then nothing more happens. This is for both live streams and listen again shows. >From what I have been able to find, this is a possible problem with mplayer, as the two outputs below illustrate: 1. Playing a live stream: mplayer -vc null -vo null -bandwidth 10000000 -cache 128 -af volume=0,resample=44100:0:1,channels=2 -ao pcm:nowaveheader:file=/dev/fd/3 rtsp://rmlive.bbc.co.uk/bbc-rbs/rmlive/ev7/live24/radio1/live/r1_dsat_g2.ra MPlayer 1.0rc1-4.1.2-DFSG-free (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team CPU: ARM mplayer: could not connect to socket mplayer: No such file or directory Failed to open LIRC support. Recompile MPlayer with --enable-debug and make a 'gdb' backtrace and disassembly. Details in DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports_what.html#bugreports_crash. - MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen. It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/share/slimserver# My suspicion is that this might be an incompatibility with the ARM processor in the LinkStation Pro and mplayer, but if anyone can spot anything obvious which might make this work then any advice would be much appreciated.
