Another way could be to create plugin like WeatherTime and SuperDateTime that can extract info from another provider which host data from a location much closer to you, like Weather Underground?
http://www.wunderground.com/global/DN.html If you hook up a personal weatherstation there is also possibilities to export your data to wunderground and share it with others.
