I agree with you 100%. I didn't actually mean to say that I think this feature is important or necessary, but I just wanted to say that I don't think it should be implemented in the client. If it doesn't make sense to implement it in the plugin, as you said correctly, then it shouldn't work. But the client should not show buttons that give the user the impression that it should work. Now you can ask who is responsible for displaying the buttons, the plugin developer or the client.
