Sorry I started such a fracas. It actually wasn't a joke. I am house-bound, one day is pretty much like the next, and having the day-of-week displayed around the house would have been handy. I was just asking for a trivial change in the standard Long Date options.
I don't know perl code from Pearl Bailey or I would have tried to figure it out myself. And I don't seem to have a slimserver.pref file, so....I'll just close the enhancement request and slink away.
