IT is generally better to use DHCP and have ip addresses assigned by
router as this will also set up DNS which is also important for
internet access.

One possibility is the gateway address in the QNAP is wrong or QNAP is
not on the right subnet - using DHCP usually avoids this possibility
unless the values are overridden.
