The newest version of squeezelite-win.exe (1.9.7-1259) now has 32-bit
and 64-bit versions and other improvements, but does not support the
Windows Media format. This is not an issue if your LMS server is
configured to play WMA files (e.g. hosting LMS on Windows or using bps's
Play WMA plugin), at least as I understand it. ralphy (squeezelite-win
author) is telling me that version 1.9.6-1210 is all there will be going
forward for WMA support in squeezelite due to old code issues, since he
has upgraded his development system and libraries.

As for me, configuring my LMS server running on a Max2Play R-Pi using
bpa's plugin has been a failure. bpa's Play WMA plugin requires
mplayer-nogui to be installed on the R-Pi and I am unable to do that.
ralphy suggested I install ffmpeg on the pi and then use a custom .conf
file to let ffmpeg convert, but I have been unable to get that to work
either. So this appears hard in some cases. (My windows server works
just fine, btw.) Since SLX is supposed to be "easy" and, after all, is
a Windows Store app, playing WMA files should be easy.

So what to do? I could just stay on 1.9.6-1210 forever. Or, I could
integrate both 1.9.6-1210 and whatever the newest version is and let the
operator select.

Not sure I like this approach all that much, though I do have it
working.

Anyone have any better ideas?
