I would like to understand and fix this issue, whatever it is. I assume you are saying that SLX often freezes on startup, but sometimes it will start up. Looking at you Task Manager picture, it appears to have occurred before squeezelite gets loaded. My suspicion is that this is related to a particular audio device attached to your system that is causing the portaudio library (used by squeezelite and SLX) to hang when enumerating audio output devices. (That is my suspicion, anyway.) What kind of audio-related devices do you have attached?
