As I said originally "I've just enabled this plugin and the amount of info it retrieves is great." - so I'm looking to optimise the config (by caching/storing images locally), as Michael suggested, in order to cut down the scan times. I've used mp3tag successfully in the past to obtain missing cover art, but it's rather a laborious task doing it piecemeal. The 'Folder with artist photos' info bubble def. says it's used as a source (only): "If you decide to use a folder for artist photos, this will be used as an additional source for pictures. Use filenames like %ARTIST.jpg (png, gif, eg. 'Peter Gabriel.jpg'). If a file is found in this folder, then no online-source will be used." By contrast the Folder for Lyrics says it's used for caching. But I'll try it out as you suggest.
