I'm sure I have the right one.
This is my usr/local/bin directory output

david-griffiths-computer:/usr/local/bin root# ls -lrt
total 15288
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 194016 Nov 11 11:56 lame
-rwxrwxrwx 1 davidgri davidgri 7627888 Dec 3 23:29 mplayer
david-griffiths-computer:/usr/local/bin root# ./mplayer
MPlayer dev-SVN-r21482-4.0.1 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team
CPU: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2500 @ 2.00GHz (Family: 6, Model:
14, Stepping: 8)
CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1
Compiled for x86 CPU with extensions: MMX MMX2 SSE SSE2

As you can see, it's compiled for x86 CPU (Intel) so it should work.

Does it matter that mplayer is not root (it's my user) ?

I'm sure everything is working correctly, as mplayer is definitely
being called when the Radio stations are attempted.

I'm a bit concerned that my fans max out though. It seems to use up a
hell of a lot of memory....
