It is something I use and there is no plugin, just me modifying the files of the audioscrobbler plugin to allow it to scrobble with maloja. I don't know perl but I looked at your plugin code and couldn't see it using the lastfm user that is registered to scrobble, but I wasn't sure. As to API calls beyond scrobbling I am not sure, but think not likely.
