(Hope you don't mind me answering this, Stuart) Hi Sams, The behaviour you describe is the way Lazy Search is intended to work. In fact, if it worked by cycling through the letters with each key press, that would be no different to the standard search functionality. The whole point of LazySearch is it cuts down the number of key presses required for a search by working a bit like predictive text on a mobile phone. As an example, say I was looking for a song containing the word "five". Using traditional search (that rotates through each letter on a button per keypress), after selecting search and "song", I'd press the following sequence of keys: 3,3,3 ("f") 4,4,4 ("i") 8,8,8 ("v") 3,3 ("e") That's 11 key presses Using lazy search, I can just press: 3,4,8,3 That's 4 key presses - quite a difference. The difference in usability (as you noticed) is that the display cannot show the letters that are being searched for, because that sequence covers a few combinations - each number represents 3 or 4 letters (that's why you just see the numbers on the screen). The vast majority of those combinations, though are very unlikely to retrieve any songs, as they don't make any sense (for the above numbers, it will also search for "dgtd","egtd","fdgd" etc.) Hope that helps. I guess Stuart could explain it much better! -- SadGamerGeek ------------------------------------------------------------------------ SadGamerGeek's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6145 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29551 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
