Yeah, I think you're right about stopping when you exit the plugin.
However I also understand that it is possible to run a separate daemon
which the plugin communicates to which can always be playing... not
sure how this plays out when you try and launch, say, MythVideo, i.e.
whether you can hook into this and tell the daemon to stop.

In my use cases, however, I'm not _that_ bothered about listening when
in other plugins.
