I've thought about that but the volume in the case of the bridges is not controlled at all through soft gain and the reason is the high level of buffering within the UPnP device. That would mean that there is a huge delay between balance change "apply" and balance result being heard. BTW, it would not only apply for flow but for any transcode as well.
