I had a question in a PM relating to the APL/display stuff, so a few
pointers may be useful:
- APL that results e.g. from you asking "what's playing?" will display
for 30 seconds and then the Echo Show automatically goes back to your
Home Screen. In other words, the APL is not a permanent display/skin
like having e.g. Material running on a Joggler. This is an Amazon
limitation, not mine.
- APL providing short feedback that's not really visual in nature
(e.g. 'FollowMe' or 'Assume' command response) will disappear from the
screen as soon as the speech finishes.
- AudioPlayer coverart/metadata relating to a 'Stream' command does
not use APL and so is not subject to the 30-sec limit. It will display
as long as that Echo Show is streaming from LMS. If you interrupt the
Stream and ask Alexa something, the screen will re-appear after her
response to the interruption.
