Well I've been going round the houses with this.
But in case it helps anyone else to generate their OAuth client ID correctly (so they can use their person YouTube account) I found I had to select 'Desktop App' as the application type when I created it. I tried a few others before settling on 'Desktop App' and none of them worked for me (the Client ID and Client Secret did not generate a code in the plugin settings page).
