Were you using iPeng when you had the LOUD and Distorted playback? I have the same problem but only with iPeng. All other players that I tried so far the audio has been okay. I'm running LMS 8.2.0 - git-c1ac49e44 @ 2021-06-18 05:39:37 on Debian 10 armhf.
