Some more info... I plugged the headset while activating the IR ouptut. On the working SB3, I can hear some tones on the left earphone. On the faulty SB3, I can hear nothing, or rather some kind of noise on the left earphone, likely to be the "always on" level.
I don't know whether this test can help fixing the issue, but anyway I was curious to "ear" the IR signal !
