I think the issue is with the config of upmpdcli. The raw nominal version works fine, but the way volumio configures it (or the version it uses) kills a few things, include gapless (see old posts https://community.volumio.org/t/v2-5-6-5-bug-in-upnp-openhome-interface/10130). It might also be the use of openhome, I don't know. What happens is that when receiving the setNextURI command according to UPnP protocol (which can be early early if current track is aac/mp3) then playback fails. If you use the stock version and default config of upmpdcli, again, it works all fine. So I guess the discussions sits with the volumio/moode devs LMS 8.2 on Odroid-C4 - *SqueezeAMP!*, 5xRadio, 5xBoom, 2xDuet, 1xTouch, 1xSB3.
