So I'm necroing my own thread many years later. I hope it's ok as I'm revisiting this issue at the moment.
The issue: I want to turn off my Radio screen using a kidsplay macro (CLI) as part of a "going to sleep" routine. I never solved it originally, have been using a kidsplay macro to play ambient music and then sleep for years now, with the screen staying lit until the Radio finally turns off after the defined period. There does seem to be a setting in the "show" CLI command that is relevant - from the documentation: brightness Brightness to use to display the message, either 'powerOn', 'powerOff', 'idle' or a value from 0 to 4. The default value is 4. The display brightness is reset to its configured value after the message. But if I add brightness to my macro, it does nothing. Is there any trick to the syntax for the show command? For reference, my updated sleep macro (using Kidsplay plugin on a Radio running the 8.0.1 community firmware): power 1; sleep 3600; mixer volume 30; playlist repeat 2; playlist play "/music/Ambient/rain_outside.mp3" 0 4; show "line1:Good night!" "line2:Sleeping in 60 mins" brightness:"idle" duration:4 It works perfectly apart from the brightness bit. I've tried brightness with a number or text, none work.
