I have fixed it without updating OpenSSL or IO::Socket::SSL (v2.002).
I found the solution described on: https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?112880-NETGEAR-ReadyNAS-LMS-install-problems/page3 In the end updating expired certificates was enough to make it working again.
