I use one of the original Airport Extreme base stations with two wireless Squeezeboxes with no problems. The Squeezebox supports WPA and WPA2 wireless security, though it is very tedious inputting a 64-character password using the remote, so I use a somewhat shorter one.
If you wish to buy a new Apple base station now, you have the choice of the square Airport Extreme or the Airport Express. Go for the Extreme and you'll be set when you buy an 802.11n compatible computer.
