Just tried setting up for recording. I'm using an SPL meter as mike, and the SB Live card on my PC for input. I have some questions:
1. The instructions suggest connecting the right line out of the SB to the right line input of the card, and the mike to the left mike input. The implication being that the stereo track so recorded will have a right channel of the source material, and left as heard by the mike. Is that correct? 2. But my card will only accept input from either the line or the mike input and can not mix a stereo track from two sources. I guess I can solder the line and mike cables into a single stereo jack to overcome the problem. Or is there another solution? 3. The screen dump of Audacity on the setup pages show a very different left and right recording? Is that correct - surely they should look very similar? 4. the mike input of the sound card seems to be mono, so the signal is replicated to both L & R. Again looks as though I should use the line input instead. I'd appreciate any advice from anyone who has tried using similar equipment. Thanks. -- mortod ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mortod's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4651 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26005 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
