Agree, the sweep recording is sometimes tricky. The reason for
recording both mic-output and line-output together is partly to
compensate for any frequency response anomalies in the recording gear,
and also to get timing information; using this method you can measure
the absolute time delay (=distance from speaker to microphone) for each
channel pretty accurately. I'll be trying to simplify the setup over
the next while, including a single-channel-recording method, but ths
might take a while to put together.

You really only need to record one single sweep for each channel; each
sweep lasts 45 seconds. The way I do this is:
- Set the volume level & recording levels roughly, using the pink-noise
test signal
- Set the test signal to "sweep". Press FFWD on remote; record. Tweak
the levels a bit. Press STOP when I have the levels right.
- Press FFWD and record the sweep.
- Switch channels at the SB3 output. FFWD and record the other channel
sweep.
There's often a glitch where FFWD doesn't actually play the sweep, need
to FFWD again to start properly. I haven't yet figured out why this
happens...
