Hi mortod - agree, the "bad" recording does look really bad (-20dB noise floor is not very useful, but -50dB is much more like where you should expect to end up). From the looks of the chart this really is just noise - so I'd associate it with e.g. using a laptop's built-in microphone by accident instead of the external mic.
Sounds like you are doing the right thing for the "after-correction" room measurement. So the resulting curve should be pretty flat. Anything below 10Hz is spurious though, so I wonder whether your chart is being affected by a spurious boost below that frequency (which I've seen a couple times). I'll post some of my own charts later for comparison. The "impulse_response_filtered" is the measured response, with a sliding low-pass filter to remove some of the room effect (leaving more of the direct-only sound). I'm not really convinced it creates "better" correction filters, just "different" :-) -- inguz ------------------------------------------------------------------------ inguz's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1139 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26005 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
