Did a little digging - turns out that the full slimserver log was already being generated - it is 30mb, I'll zip and email it if you would like to have a look at it?
Also found mysql-error-log.txt, which I'm guessing by its contents can tell some interesting stories. Have restored DB from last night's backup, so will now run query via a SQL front-end and see what happens.
