I'm taking this message on the fly, maybe I'm totally off topic, but in case I'm not :)... I sometimes met "hang" problems with SS. Nothing react on the remote, no music or a giant glitch and about a minute later (minute of server hard disk activity), the show goes on.
Never looked closer as it just happened a couple of times.
