haunyack, getting MIP and SC to play nicely together can seem like art than science, but (like you) I think it's more than worth it. Can only say again what has always worked flawlessly for me on XP - run MIP headless using the instructions I referenced above (rather than as a Windows installed service) and everything works in the order it should.
