Have you tried getting away from the computer and using the remote? I always figured that one of the motivations for the SB/TP in the first place was to get the computer out of the listening room. That's the way a lot of people use their SB or TP. In fact there was a forum poll not that long ago -- I forget how the numbers broke out, but I think it was fairly even between remote vs. pc.
