The disable/save, enable/save did the trick. Now the squeezecenter
starts as expected. I also did a reboot and the server started
perfectly after that as well.

Another question. I have installed FreeNAS and SlimNAS on a compact
flash, while my music is stored on a harddrive. My hope is that the
harddrive will be able to spin down when my squeezebox is turned off. I
assume that squeezecenter does not access he harddrive when the
squeezebox is off and no database action is performed (e.g. scanning
the library). Is this true?

The FreeNAS embedded uses a RAM disk to minimize the number of writes
to the CF, I assume this is not true for SlimNAS/squeezecenter. Which
kind of information can be expected to be written to the flash by
squeezecenter?
