Felix,

I downloaded SlimCenter yeterday evening and naturally your updated IR
plugin immediately after. :) It still works like a charm and tickles me
every time.

I have been suppressing for many months an urge to give you one of
those annoying "feature suggestions", and can't hold back any longer.
Easy to use and powerful as the plugin already is, I would love to be
able to have it add a new submenu on my SB2/SB3 (and on the newly
announced products in the future). The submenu would show a list of ir
commands/command sequences that I could choose to have the SB send out
at any time. The items on the list might be addressible as Favorites as
well. In this way, users like me would be empowered to do things like
hiding my receiver and putting away its remote control and still be
able to not only turn it on and off and adjust its volume, but also:

- define a menu item accessible on the SB that would say "switch
receiver to radio" that, when selected, would send the IR command to
have the receiver switch inputs to FM and perhaps change the station to
a particular preset (one would also of course define a correponding
"switch receiver to squeezebox")

- define menu items accessible on the SB that would say "switch to
preset X" that, when selected, would send the IR command to have the
receiver switch to various radio presets

-do other useful things via IR whenever I feel like it :)

On an even more annoying-pie-in-sky-guy note, ultimate flexibility in
using SC to automate home-listening-related things might be achieved by
generalizing the user's ability to define a sequence of commands and
delays to allow both sending ir commands and executing things on the
computer (ala the ExecuteScript plugin). That might allow one to do
things like:

- have the squeezebox trigger the sending of an http command to power
on/off one's wonderful old non-ir amp that happens to be sitting in a
closet that sports ethernet-and-speaker-wires using one of these:

- complete the circle of being able to configure about anything anyone
might want to in association with enjoying music at home! And
Slimdevices brand loyalty for life would be the inevitable result since
one's house might not operate without SqueezeCenter for those who have
too much fun with this plugin. :)

Selfishly, I will admit that in combination, these would allow me to
achieve my goal of having a squeezebox and a pair of speakers in every
room, and nothing more, without losing the ability to listen to the
radio and without having to buy anything but that networked power
strip. *shrugs sheepishly*

Any thoughts will be appreciated. Mocking laughter will be grudgingly
but respectfully accepted.
