Hi BPA, thanks for the response. I should have perhaps said "despite all my efforts I cant get it back" rather than "still". It just seems odd that immediately before I ran the install it worked and immediately after the error message it didn't, I take your word for it that what you say is correct, but odd nonetheless. Back to the AlienBBC point, i'm currently at work so can't do as suggested for a couple of hours. I ran the install from the install pack for version 6.5. I'm confused because the batch file runs, another thing I noticed is that on my icon for slimserver there is no option to "STOP" .If I remember rightly only about three options Open, website and Exit, I take it that Exit could possibly mean stop, but the instructions on ripcast are explicit and have been correct in all other respects, and I'm fairly sure that it did say it once upon a time, it's just left me scratching my head a bit.
