AlienBBC plays RealAudio streams which have no DRM or geographical limitations. The only limitation is listening to commentary of some sport events if the SC is not in the UK.
Many of the the stream on AlienBBC are not RealAudio so you need to be specific by stating which non-BBCstreams are working. Since you are XP - did the install test of the BBC stream work ? You can try it by opeening a Commadn prompt window. CD to the directory which has mplayer installed (probably the Bin/MSWin32-x86-multi-thread in SqueezeCenter) and run the "Test mplayer.bat" file. If the "test mplayer.bat" doesn't work then you have a BBC stream problem.
