What are the paths you installed it to?
How did you restart SC?
I tested this with 7.0 and 7.01 under ubuntu 7.1 myself and both
worked, so I think it shouldn't be something about the SC version.
Also, somebody else had trouble with wrong permissions being set on the
plugin when installing under ubuntu, how did you transfer the plugin to
that machine? 
I'm sure the permissions were fine when I zipped this on my mac (read
and execute access for everybody) and it does install fine on MY ubuntu
but you never know...
Guess you can't check this, though, now that it's running....
