That Softsqueeze bug is on my list to investigate but low down. With regard to track info - have you tried different settings FreedDB & MusicBrainz. I found FreeDB on some mornings (8.00-9.00 localtime) slows down such (or perhaps too many users) that I got timeouts. MusicBrainz was more reliable but had fewer CD entries.
