While I haven't been in the SqueezeCenter world very long, I have been doing my best to catch up. After having a great experience with my first Duet purchase, I've since gone on to buy three more receivers and another controller.
After getting so much great advice and help on these forums, I thought I'd say 'thanks' by giving back something. Playlist Butler is a Windows app that you run on your SqueezeCenter machine and once setup correctly, it will monitor your playlists directory for new or modified playlists -- playlists you've presumably saved or exported from your favorite desktop music player/manager. (In my case, this is J River Media Center) When it finds a new or changed playlist, Playlist Butler will open the playlist and perform any path substitution you specify and update the playlist file. (In my case, this transforms paths from ones that the desktop machine understands, to paths that SqueezeCenter understands) And finally, you can set up a 'dummy' playlist name that when saved to the playlist directory, will cause Playlist Butler to trigger a SqueezeCenter new Music Scan. This way, I can save a bunch of playlists from my desktop and trigger a SqueezeCenter rescan... all from within Media Center (or whatever favorite app you have).
