I've not had any problems with morning alarms myself (and I use them every
day). However, there are a couple of things you can look at. In the log,
check for the scheduler updates (not just the checkAlarms notes). This
should show a periodic summary of all upcoming alarms. The update should
happen on startup and around midnight each night.

The other thing is that some systems have a log cleanup routine
(debian-based systems at least). Logrotate runs once per day, shutting
down SC in order to archive older log files. If this is too close to your
alarm time, the scheduler may not have had enough time to do an update (it
generally waits until the next minute ticks over)
