There seems to be nothing of note in the log which would mean that the stuttering is either from the BBC or else from SC to the SB.
Does the stuttering only happen with live streams or does it happen with "Listen Again" ? Is it more prevalent at certain times such as busy times (e.g Mon-Fri 5.00-7.30pm), late at night, at weekends esp. evening. Can you describe the stuttering. If the BBC is the cause then it will be either be - small fragments of repeated sounds possibly with some gaps of silence. - large gaps of silence typically 5-7 secs but up to 30 secs. If the mplayer buffer has been depleted due to network problem - then you will get alternating sound and silence. A good check for depleted mplayer buffer is to press pause for about 45 secs and then play - play continues normally. Buffer depletion occurs due to network problems.
