The command "wavin2cmd.exe -w -o wavin:0 > audiocapture.wav" is independent of SC version and if it fails in 7.2, it should also fail for 7.0. All it does is hook into Windows audio subsystem and copy audio stream to a file.
It it doesn't work then either the setup is wrong or possibly it won't work at all in your setup. Did you try "wavin2cmd -l" to see if there are other device numbers ?
