Buffer setting only applies to stations that are played natively by SB such as MP3 and WMA streams. TYpically any station that can be played using Squeezenetwork. Initial buffer is handled by Mplayer and then by the SB normal buffer - typically a couple of mins when RTSP/Flac is used. > > However I am now having another problem. Streams start but they are in > constant need of rebuffering on all BBC channels (ok I tried bbc 1, 4 > and 7) > You need to describe the problem, the symptoms and stations/ program played in more detail. 1. What are you playing and when ? Live streams have a different set of buffering problems than "Listen Again". Live streams also have their own station profile (e.g Radio 4 is very busy Mon-Thurs 5.00pm-7.30pm and about midday on Sunday). Generally "Listen Again" streams cannot suffer from lack of data from BBC because all the program is available but Live streams can only deliver data at a specificed rate and if you have network errors and have data loss - the link will eventually need to be reset as all the internal buffer will become depleted. 2. What is the problem ? How do you decide you need to rebuffer. What do you do when you have decided it needs to rebuffer ? If you get a "rebuffering" message on the display then the problem is between server and SB. 3. Are you syncing players ? 4. Are your streams transcoding Real|Audio into WAV, Flac or MP3 to the player ? If you are sending Flac/MP3 to player what is your server CPU utilisation ? If you are sending Flac to player - do you get the same symptoms if you using MP3 instead ? If you are sending WAV to player - using Network test what is the max net speed @ 100% between server and SB player. -- bpa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=50447 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
