There is a custom keymap bind you can associate to a key to show the clock briefly. I used to have this assigned to nowplaying.hold. Unfortunately, I lost the line, and can't remember how to do it. These days, I use the MusicInfoScreensaver, configured to permanently display the clock in the top-right corner of the playerUI when the player is playing.
