This is the way I did it using the now playing button: 1. Locate the Default.map file in SqueezeCenter\server\IR directory 2. Copy it and name it something such as "Custom_remote.map" or similar 3. Open Custom_remote.map and locate section "#playing display modes" 4. Add the line "now_playing.hold = datetime" and save 5. In SqueezeCenter settings "Players>Remote" change "Remote Button Functions" to Custom_remote and hit "Apply" 6. Restart SqueezeCenter 7. Press and hold the now playing button on the remote while the player is on.
